It's been a long time since I've seen this kind of quality in a hat cord. The color is right, the thickness is right and the tassels are perfect when compared to an original. I don't know if we will ever be able to get these again so if you want one you better get it now. 100% wool.
Now as you can see in the photos the hat cord is long, it hangs over the edge of your hat. I've seen origianl photos of jaunty young men wearing them just like this with the tassels hanging off the side of their hat. I've also seen originals with creative knots tied in them to shorten the length. But if you have watched our youtube video on how to shorten a hat cord you already know that it takes about 2 minutes to make them whatever length you want. You will notice in one photo the cord is shortened, I did that in less than a minute. But that's just me.

HAMPTON'S LEGION SHELL JACKET
  
What a great shell jacket. Most associate this jacket with Hampton's Cavalry. The very appex of what we think of when recalling the start of the war. Finely dressed troopers on superior mounts with gleaming blades and colt navys at their side.
As I said everyone associates this jacket with Hampton' Legions (and rightly so) but truth be told if you do a little digging you will find the exact same jacket being worn here there and everywhere. I'm not saying that they were common but I can think of 2 identified members of Gen. Forrest Escort wearing this exact same jacket. One of them being Private George W. Hooper from Wheel Tenn. Sadly I can not recall the other fellows name but he's out there.

This is a much needed item. I love my kepi but it is absolutely worthless in the rain. But now when a shower pops up all I have to do is take my new havlock out of my haversack, button it onto my kepi and no more cold rain water running down the back of my neck. Works great in the winter too as it keeps that cold north wind from blowing down my collar. One size fits all. Stamped with a period correct vulcanization mark dated to the period.

Well you have to hand it to the Union Army when it comes to dressing their musicians. This is one good looking frock. It's everything you would expect. Made from top notch coat weight Union blue wool. The light blue tape is expertly sewn on. The button holes are done by hand. The fit is great. Interior pocket over the left breast. If I were a better musician I would find a reason to wear this frock.

Remember officers had their uniforms custom made and tended to spend quite a bit especially on their coats. This jacket is designed after an original. It is made from gray jean wool, completely lined. One outer pocket and one inner. 2 rows of braid for a Captain's rank and red trim around the collar and the outer pocket. An excellent looking shell jacket if I do say so myself.

Photographic evidence of Confederate battle shirts can be found in every theater of operation. There seem to be more examples west of the Mississippi and especially in Texas. (That's just my personal opinion.) But as I said they were everywhere. Ours is based on several originals showing the same traits.
It is made from a heavy shirt weight gray wool with black trim. Two pockets on the front. A shirt you will be proud to wear. This is designed to be the outer garment although you can wear a jacket over it if you wish. But then they could'nt see your great shirt!

1812 ARTILLERY BUTTONS
1812 Artillery buttons, Coat size and cuff. The coat size measures 3/4 of an inch and the cuff measures 1/2 of an inch. These buttons are cast in the exact same style as the originals. The detail is outstanding. Older buttons like these often found themselves on the early war coats of Confederates.

BRITISH ENFIELD CARTRIDGE BOX
  
British Enfield Cartridge Boxes ran the blockade and were present throughout the south in great numbers as can be seen by reading any Blockade Runner's manifest. Then track the distribution though the official receiving logs. The best source of this information being the book "Entrepot".
Our British Cartridge box is made to the same spec.'s as the originals measuring 7 inches long, 3 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches tall. It's a little hard to see in the photos but yes there is an inner and an outer flap. Of course they include the tin (singular) and are made of the best leather by the finest craftsmen in the business. Traditionally worn with a white buff cartridge box sling but common sense tells us that the CS soldier could have worn it with any cartridge box sling found at the arsenal, black leather, white cotton, black painted cotton. There is no wrong sling to wear with this box.

1808 CARTRIDGE BOX (REV.-WAR)
  
Now before you start giving me crap about the date and me calling it a rev.-war box you need to understand this. I'm not saying it's a rev.-war box but a lot of people are using this 1808 for a rev.-war box. You can do whatever you want.
Here's what I will say, this is a hell of a good cartridge box! It measures 9 1/2 inches long. It's 2 3/4 inches deep. It's 6 inches tall. It has a leather finial. A wooden block that holds 29 cartridges. Remove the block and you will find a 3 section tin for your flints etc. Super well made of the finest materials. The inner flap is painted canvas as were the origianls. If you are not happy with this box you can not be made happy.

1819 US BAYONET BALDRIC BUCKLE
This 1819 model bayonet baldric buckle would have been seen on the US Regulars as well as many militia units up to and even after the US/Mex war. Remember, militias like the National Guard often get the "hand me downs" from the US Regulars and use them long after US reg's have changed. This buckle has a tin back with iron hooks.

REV WAR FRICTION BUCKLE 3 INCH
OK, I called this a Rev. War buckle because I had to call it something. Fact is this style of buckle goes back to the middle ages and was used long after the American Civil War. So damn near any time period with them being more common in one than the other as things fall in and out of favor. They never ceased to be used.
Now if you want to turn this into a regular style buckle just go down to your local welding supply shop and get one brazing rod of the appropriate size for your buckle. Clip a piece to the right length and bend it around the center post. It will cost you pennies.
